2.5 miles (4km)
The final stretch of the River Lea’s navigation includes the attractive and historic three Mills and the man-made Limehouse Cut which avoids the river’s tidal entrance. The towpath passes close to the impressive Limehouse Church before reaching Limehouse Basin and the River Thames. Those wishing to follow the alternative route, which offers access to the mouth of the Lea at its confluence with the Thames, should join the Meridian Walk as indicated at Three Mills (section 16).
